Mentors
The CSUN SS12 coordinators are excited to announce the mentors for this years competition.
Artin Fallahi
Artin Fallahi is an Electronics Engineer at Northrop Grumman. He completed his BS in Computer Engineering at CSUN in 2007 and completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering at CSUN in 2010. In between getting his BS and Masters Artin had gone to work for a small Los Angeles area startup doing embedded soft-core processor designs using FPGA's, analog and digital motor controllers, as well as magnetic bearing designs. In 2008 Artin joined Northrop Grumman where he has worked on board and processor designs.
Brian Meadows
Brian Meadows is a veteran of the USAF and graduated from CSUN in 2010 where he received both his BS in Computer engineering and his BS in Applied Mathematics. During his time as CSUN he had the opportunity to participate in two NSF funded research projects with the Mathematics Department where he discovered a passion for research and development. He continued on this path during his senior year by working with Dr. Sharlene Katz, Professor James Flynn and Dr. David Schwartz on a grant funded project through Edwards Air Force Base. The purpose of the project was to develop a communication link between a ground station and an unmanned aerial vehicle. He worked as the project lead leading a team on five other people through a project that ended in success as well as a published paper at the 2010 American Society for Engineering Educators.
He has held internships at Arete Associates as we as Edwards Air Force Base. He is currently employed at NAVSEA as a computer engineer where he works in R&D on Embedded Systems, as well as web applications for ship support. He is married and in his spare time he enjoys brewing beer, backpacking, and swing dancing with his wife.
Kenneth Evensen
Kenneth Evensen is a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Mesrob Kyurkchyan
Mesrob Kyurkchyan is a Solution Developer at Amgen. He graduated from Cal State University, Northridge in 2009 with a B.S. in Computer Science. Currently a Graduate Student at USC. Mesrob has been involved in past SS12 event as Judge, Associate Mentor and webmaster. His experience includes in areas such as Enterprise Application Integration, Web Development and Technologies, and User Interface Design.
Mike Matuzak
Michael Matuzak is a software engineer at Yahoo!. He likes to write code, make web pages, and read comics.
